Artisan Feature | Quinn Popcorn

Microwave Popcorn - Reinvented. That is the mantra over at Quinn Popcorn, where husband + wife owners Kristy + Coulter Lewis set out on a mission to "clean-up" microwave popcorn after the birth of their first son (and company namesake), Quinn. We were extremely excited to feature Quinn Popcorn in our August basket and honored to spend a little bit of time with Kristy to get to know her better on a personal level. Based out of Boulder, Colorado, Quinn Popcorn was founded in 2012.

What inspired you to start you company?

I really wanted to clean up microwave popcorn and create a healthy snack that all families could enjoy.

What is your favorite Artisinal Treat?

Taza Chocolate

What drew you to food?

I was always a bit of a "health nut" and the more I learned about the food industry the more I wanted to get involved with the positive change that needs to happen here.

Where does your food inspiration come from?

Simplicity. Less is more.

What products are you working on now?

We are excited to be launching two new flavors in our 'Farm-to-Bag' Pre-Popped line. We will have a Popcorn popped with extra virgin coconut oil and a popcorn popped with extra virgin California olive oil.

Do you have a favorite product?

One of our first flavors - our microwave (Popcorn Reinvented) Vermont Maple & Sea Salt.

Latest Ingredient Obsession?

Coconut oil.

What did you have for dinner last night?

I'm a mom so quick and healthy is my go to. I had a Qrunch Veggie Burger with Avacado (Avocado).

What other local food artisans or chef's do you admire?

Rudi's, Ozuke and the Pressery - Boulder has some very inspiring companies.

If you had to choose your last meal what would it be?

Lobster and strawberry shortcake.

Favorite Restaurant?

Mod Market - I love how they are making good food accessible.
